Maparoni + AI

Use Maparoni with AI

Connect Maparoni to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants, then ask them to make maps for you: plan a road trip, collect places from a list, or tidy up a map you already have. They work with your maps, and you stay in control.

Most apps ask for the Maparoni server address:

https://maparoni.app/mcp

Claude

Works on every Claude plan. Once you've added Maparoni on the web, it's also there in the Claude desktop and mobile apps.

  1. Click Add to Claude. Claude opens its connector settings with Maparoni filled in. (Or go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Maparoni and paste the server address.)
  2. Click Add, then Connect. Sign in to Maparoni and allow access; the page shows claude.ai as a verified domain.
  3. In a chat, check Maparoni is switched on under + → Connectors, and ask away.

Free plans can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds Maparoni once under Organization settings → Connectors, and everyone then connects their own account.

ChatGPT

Maparoni isn't in ChatGPT's app directory yet. Until it is, ChatGPT can connect it through developer mode on the web, on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans.

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web, go to Settings and turn on Developer mode (it's in beta).
  2. Add a new app, name it Maparoni, paste the server address and choose OAuth.
  3. Sign in to Maparoni and allow access; the page shows chatgpt.com as a verified domain.
  4. In a chat, choose Maparoni from the tools menu.

The settings move around as OpenAI updates them; OpenAI's instructions have the current path.

Gemini

Gemini's custom apps work on the web, for personal Google accounts in the US, for people 18 and over.

  1. In Gemini on the web, open Settings & help → Connected Apps.
  2. Under Custom apps, choose Add a custom app and paste the server address.
  3. Sign in to Maparoni and allow access.

Le Chat

Mistral's Le Chat takes custom connectors on every plan, including free.

  1. In the side panel, open Intelligence → Connectors and choose Add connector.
  2. Pick Custom MCP connector, name it Maparoni and paste the server address.
  3. Sign in to Maparoni and allow access.

Perplexity

Custom connectors are available on Perplexity Pro and Max.

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and add a Custom connector of type Remote.
  2. Name it Maparoni and paste the server address.
  3. Sign in to Maparoni and allow access.

Meta Muse

Muse adds connectors from a conversation rather than from its settings.

  1. Ask Muse: “Add a custom connector for Maparoni. Its MCP server is at https://maparoni.app/mcp.”
  2. Follow its prompts to sign in to Maparoni and allow access.

Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code

One command or one click, then sign in when the tool asks.

  1. Claude Code: run the command below, then /mcp in Claude Code to sign in.
claude mcp add --transport http maparoni https://maparoni.app/mcp
  2. Cursor and VS Code: use the buttons above, then sign in when the editor asks.
  3. Anything else that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP with OAuth works with the server address. If a tool can't do OAuth, create an API key in your account settings and send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>.

Ideas

Things to ask

  • “Make me a Maparoni map of the best bakeries in Paris.”
  • “Turn this list of campsites into a map, with prices as a field.”
  • “Add a lunch stop in Katoomba to my weekend ride map.”
  • “Which of my maps changed this week, and what's new in them?”
  • “Summarise the comments on my road trip map.”

You're in control

Your maps, your call

An app only gets access after you sign in to Maparoni and allow it. The approval page shows which app is asking and where the access goes, so check both.

Changed your mind? Disconnect any app under Settings → Connected AI apps, and it's signed out straight away. Every change an app makes shows up in your map's activity, like any other edit.
